UV Gel: A Step By Step Application Guide
Why I Am For UV Gels
Do you like the beautiful look of natural nails? Do you think acrylics look tacky and gauche?Do you wish you had the time to maintain natural nails and keep them beautiful longer. If you wish that your natural looking nails were durable and easier to maintain without sacrificing their elegant beauty, then you must get yourself a set of uv gel nails. UV gel nails are a type of artificial or fake nails, but they don’t seem to have the same stigma that bad acrylics get (yellowing, very fake looking, injurious to the nail bed, noxious fumes, etc. etc.). Gel nails do not last quite as long as acrylics between maintenance, and they are not quite as hard, but they do look very natural and have a beautiful high gloss to them. Gel nails can also be reinforced with fiberglass or kept short if you are worried about how you treat your poor nails now. Gel nails come in a variety of brands, styles and types and there are a few important distinctions to note. The most important item of note is that there are two variety of UV gel nails, the first are almost irremovable, and they are your standard gel uv, the second type are still difficult to remove, but they do not require you to grow them completely out.If gel nails is kind of a new thing for you, or commitments make you curl up in the fetal position (He is a Great Guy!) then you will want to go with “Soak Off” UV Gels, ask your nail tech, she knows best.Otherwise, you can just get started and start enjoying your nails more than you have in a long time. Now, How To Work With UV Gel Sets
- Step 1 Buff or file the top of your nails to remove any natural shine and oils you have. Put on a layer of gel primer and allow it to dry completely.
- Step 2 Apply a thin layer of gel to the nail. Use the same motion you would if you were applying polish, brushing from your cuticle to the free edge of your nail.
- Step 3 Get your finger nails in the uv light for somewhere close to 1 to 3 minutes or until your gels of hardened.
- Step 4 Add a second coat of nail gel to your nails. You want to apply a bead of gel to your nail and slowly spread or float it around over your whole nail being careful to keep it from touching the skin. Now, Place your finger nail under the lamp to let them cure.
- Step 5 Repeat step 4 making sure to fill in any ridges that may have formed and smooth out the shape of the nail. Take your time with this step.Arrange your hands beneath the lamp for the last time so that your nails can harden.
- Step 6 File your nails with a nail drill or buffer to attain the shape you want.
